A Song from My Heart
I wrote this song a couple months ago during a really rough time. I was just sitting on my couch strumming my guitar, and God put this song in my heart. It is awesome how Jesus brings us comfort when we praise Him.
The gas is on empty
The milk is gone
I’ve got 91 dollars to last me three months
I’m climbing this mountain through quicksand
My feet keep slipping,
I can barely breathe
My strength is gone
My soul is weak
My heart is lost, I have nothing left
Even then, even then O God,
Teach me to need You
Teach me to know You
Teach me to trust You
Teach me to love You
It’s been 3 hours and I still can’t sleep
The thoughts keep raging, they never stop
I’ve been fighting this battle on my own two feet
I need your grace to carry me
My strength is gone
My soul is weak
My heart is lost, I have nothing left
Even then, even then O God
Teach me to need You
Teach me to know You
Teach me to trust You
Teach me to love You
The gas is on empty
The milk is gone
I’ve got 91 dollars to last me three months
I’m climbing this mountain through quicksand
My feet keep slipping,
I can barely breathe
My strength is gone
My soul is weak
My heart is lost, I have nothing left
Even then, even then O God,
Teach me to need You
Teach me to know You
Teach me to trust You
Teach me to love You
It’s been 3 hours and I still can’t sleep
The thoughts keep raging, they never stop
I’ve been fighting this battle on my own two feet
I need your grace to carry me
My strength is gone
My soul is weak
My heart is lost, I have nothing left
Even then, even then O God
Teach me to need You
Teach me to know You
Teach me to trust You
Teach me to love You
