My Coffee Has a Sweater

I thought my coffee was cold so I made him (or her) a sweater. We all long to be wrapped up, cozy and warm, on a wintry day...even coffee cups.

All this little sweater is, is a cuff of one of my old sweaters. I felted the sweater before I cut off the cuff to make the fibers bind together, and to make the sweater more snug around the coffee cup.

I rolled the cut end inside about an inch and a half so the ends won't fray. Blue embroidery floss is stitched on the top and bottom, and a happy, little heart stitched on the front.

This simple little project will help the landfills as well as keep my hands cool and the coffee warm.

Oh the joys of winter crafting!

I absolutely love this! Are you selling these? I didn't look around long enough to see, but this is something you should pitch to Starbucks-

Seriously.

Much cuter than the current coffee-collar made of cardboard!

this is way to cute! Love it!!!
O magazine has a great story about a sweater, which was given as a gift from an uncle to his niece. She outgrew this very distinct sweater and gave it away to a worthy cause.

2o years later she had started a micro lending company for women in a third world country. During one of her visits in this country she caught a glimpse of a familiar sweater.

She had to find out if it was her sweater and asked to see the tag that she had written her name.

It was her sweater. There's nothing better than a great sweater and apparently for coffee mugs as well.

What a great idea! I can keep my coffee warm and reuse a favorite sweater or coat that no longer fits me - I love it.
